The Drum Motor eliminates the external components such as motor, gear box, sprockets, chain, chain guard and pillow block bearings typically seen on conventional drives. All external component maintenance is eliminated by having the electric motor, gear drive and all moving parts of the drum motor enclosed within the shell or drum. The motor and gears operate in a sealed oil bath enclosure, ensuring proper lubrication and cooling. The drum motor rotates a gear module which transmits power to the outer rotating shell.
The drum motor's compact, low-profile design makes installation quick and easy requiring less time to install than exposed conveyor drives.
